SUMMERTIME INTO FALL

Hey Yall! This summer went well but fast. We mostly rode horses this summer and stayed indoors from the heat. We went swimming as often as possible. The kids also bowled in the summer league and did very well and enjoyed it. We made it to our annaul truck show, Austins Heaven on Earth.
I trained under a Farrier (that is a Horseshoer for those who don't know what a farrier is) all summer and learned how to trim my horses hooves. Wow, what a workout. I learned a lot and enough to actually tackle the task.

This is me working on Cheyennes horse, Dynomite. He was good for me which helped my back out. I love knowing how now, so I can pass that knowledge on to Cheyenne and Austin. Can't ever learn too much right:)
Jason is well and working. He messes with his many vehicles everyday and daydreams of making them all hot rods:) We decided against tearing down Austins old room walls so we made it a game room. Jason has fixed it up real nice....and cozy.

Cheyenne is still riding in Gymkhana and doing better each show. She will finish Gymkhana in November. She is riding like a champ and most importantly, loves it. She is a real wiz kid in school when she isn't tired. If she is tired then its like teaching a preschooler. But isn't that like most of us when were lacking sleep. She is in 3rd grade and absolutely doing awesome. I am very proud of her.
Austin is my super wiz kid in school. He demands perfection from himself and that is a constant battle with him. I try on a regular basis to remind him that making mistakes is how your learn. He is really great at every subject but Language Arts this year is giving him a bit of a challenge. I say challenge is good, right. He has started another bowling season. He bowls 3 games every Saturday morning and loves it. He is quite the little bowler. We decided against soccer this year, yeah! Soccer was 4 nights a week and bowling is only 1 morning a week. He doesn't really miss it either.

The Pahrump Fall Festival just passed again and it was awesome. I have many pictures from this weekend. OK, I have lots to tell............ Cheyenne was the only one who enter a goat and a chicken this year, for some reason Austin decided against it and regretted it afterwards. Any-who, Cheyenne received a first place and Grand Champion on her goat. She received a first place and Reserve Grand Champion on her chicken.

She also won a saddle from raffle drawing and she placed first in a Dog Fashion Show. That was really fun.
Austin entered a watercolor pictures he painted and got first place and Lot Champion. He also won $16 on Chicken Bingo. He loved the fair mostly because of the carnival. He helped out with Slippery Swine and got nice and greasy. We all went to the rodeo and enjoyed the rodeo clown as always. Cheyenne aspires to be one, ya know.

Well that is about it for now. We will be getting for Halloween and the Holidays soon, so I will be in touch soon.

I do hope everyone is well. Keep in touch!!

Spring with the Romans Family

Hey all, just an update here. I can't say I have any recent pictures but I thought I might write everyone and tell how our Spring is going so far. Well as always the ranch is keeping us busy. I have actually down-sized my ranch quite a bit. I am down to 3 horses, 2 donkeys, 9 goats (14 before), but I have doubled in chickens. I have 4 hens and 4 chicks on their way to being hens and 5 dogs.

Cheyenne (7 yrs) is still riding and riding awesome if I do say so. She is riding 2 horses in Gymkhana and is doing well. She needs a confidence booster, she had a hard year last year. She placed 3rd in Keyhole on Rusty at her April Show and that is her best finish since she started riding by herself in Gymkhana. So that ribbon is on the frig and we are very happy for her accomplishment. She rides twice a week and practices hard at different obstacles here at home and she has joined 4-H horsemanship to get even more knowledge of horses.

Austin (8 yrs) is playing baseball and is doing really well. He has improved so much from last year. I guess it all comes in age. So far he has hit 2 home runs:) The coach gave him his home run balls, so we are looking for cases put them in. The coach put the date, the team we played , and Austins name on the balls. Its really cool. He just loves sports but not as much as "trucks". Big Rigs are still his most favorite things in the world. Vegas has a annual truck show every June and we awaiting that. He has been on top of all the Nascar races and goes with his dad to all the desert races. He knows every car number and driver, very thorough.

Besides the farm, I am homeschooling still. We will be done in the middle of June and then we'll start our summer festivities, like swimming, cleaning, painting, and riding. We had a 2 room add-on built and that will us all busy moving furniture, painting, and decoratoring. The two new rooms are Austin and Cheyennes rooms. Cheyennes old room is my new school room and Austins old room is the hallway to the new rooms and his walls are coming down. That will expand out family room. It is all working out fine.

Well I do hope everything is well with everyone.
Love ya all and God Bless.
Kristal and Family
Cheyenne doing her reading homework in the laundry basket. She is way too funny. The next picture is Austin being really funny also. He was playing his playstation with his motorcycle helmet on. I saw him doing that and just cracked up. The 3rd picture is so funny, its my dogs in lock up and they are soo not happy about it either. Left to right is Benson, Reba, Fred is the newest bassett, who is not happy about being in lock up and the black/white dog is Buster. Trucker is there also but he was jumping up so he wasn't in the picture. I thought these were too cute, hope you all like. Love ya all. 5-28-08
